Two long-time local journalists join
Youngstown Press Club board
Two journalists with decades of Mahoning Valley experience have been appointed to the Youngstown Press Club's board of governors.
They are: Elise Skolnick, director of communications and marketing for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation and its agencies; and Tony Paglia, who is retired after more than 40 years in journalism and media and government relations.
The board appointed Skolnick to fill the unexpired term as president-elect, replacing Malaynia Spiva.
The board appointed Paglia to fill the unexpired term as treasurer, replacing Adam Earnheardt.
Both terms end June 30, 2025.
Skolnick is editor of the Jewish Federation publication, The Jewish Journal.
Previously, she was communications coordinator for the YWCA of Youngstown, now YWCA Mahoning Valley.
For more than 20 years, Skolnick was a reporter for various newspapers, including The Vindicator and The Business Journal and wrote for Women's World magazine.
She is also an award-winning photographer.

Paglia received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Duquesne University and resides in Hermitage, Pa.
