Youngstown Press Club Memberships

Individual Memberships
All memberships are on an anniversary schedule and expire one year from the date paid. Student memberships are always free. Find your membership option, complete the form below, and submit payment via PayPal or check.

Regular Membership - $50

Individual memberships are $50 per year. There is an option to pay for three years for $150. Fill out the membership form below.

New Professional Discount - $35
For new professionals $35 for under 35. If you are under 35 years old, you can get a one-year membership for the reduced rate of $35. Fill out the membership form below.

Networking & Community

Connect with journalists, communicators, educators, PR/marketing professionals, media entrepreneurs, students, retirees, and others passionate about journalism and press freedom in the Mahoning Valley.

Professional Development & Events

Access to informative and engaging events focused on journalism, communications, press freedom, and related topics (such as speaker series, dinners, awards banquets, World Press Freedom Day observances, and more).
Members pay a reduced member rate for most events.
Access to members-only events such as parties and mixers.

Student Support & Career Growth

Free student membership (for high school and college students), which helps with networking, resume building, leadership and professional development, and meeting others with shared goals.
Members can participate in activities that develop leadership and career skills beyond the classroom.

Participation in Awards and Recognition

Members can submit nominations and participate in the club’s Hall of Fame, Excellence in Media Award, First Amendment Award, and Medal of Merit programs, which honor excellence and contributions in journalism and communications.

Community & Educational Mission

By joining, members support the club’s broader mission to promote journalism, press freedom, education and community engagement through events, mentorship and public awareness activities.

Reciprocal Agreement Benefit with the National Press Club

The Youngstown Press Club's reciprocal agreement with the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., allows for our members to be admitted to the National Press Club's facilities. You must make prior arrangements for a visit through the YPC. A and all visiting members are required to have an introductory letter as a proof of their active YPC membership and good standing.

Individual Membership: $50 per year (or 3 years for $150).

Student Membership

Supporting journalism and communications students is part of our mission. We offer free membership to college and high school students in journalism and communications fields and encourage students of all ages to take advantage of our events for networking, learning and growing in their field.

•   Including membership in a professional organization strengthens your resume.
•   Adding membership in a professional organization can support a graduate school application.
•   Participating in some activities can help develop leadership skills and provide information not available in a classroom setting.

Institutional Membership

Institutional members of the Youngstown Press Club support the club on an institutional level. The cost of an institutional membership is $250 for one year. Institutional memberships run on a rolling schedule and expire one year from the date paid. Benefits include the option of having your institution's name and logo placed on some official press club publications while membership is active, and three, free individual memberships.
