Youngstown State University students at The Jambar, Jambar TV and the Society of Collegiate Journalists join the Youngstown Press Club, The Business Journal and WKBN-TV to present a Student Press Freedom Day program to raise awareness of student journalism and the power of the student press.
Student Press Freedom Day is a national day of action when we celebrate the contributions of student journalists and the need to support their independence without censorship or threat to their advisers. The day calls attention to the arbitrary and needless censorship of student journalists, and calls upon elected officials to restore and protect student press freedom.
Refreshments will be served.
The first 50 people will receive a Student Press Law Center button.
