The Youngstown Press Club kicked off its scholarship fundraising at its 6th annual Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner on Sept. 23. Thank you to all who have already given so generously! The press club gives scholarships based on how much it receives in donations each year. The more you donate, the more scholarship money we are able to award to students majoring in journalism, public relations, marketing, and other communication fields. Since the YPC's scholarship program began, $36,000 has been awarded to students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of college. Beyond the monetary support the scholarship provided, this award was a recognition of my hard work and passion. In a time of social media and misinformation, journalism is not always an easy path to pursue. This gift reminded me that there are professionals who are invested in my future and seeing me grow. Donating to the Youngstown Press Club scholarship fund today ensures that another group of future journalists and communicators will have the ability to finish their education and pursue their careers.
