Youngstown State University students at The Jambar and Jambar TV joined the Youngstown Press Club, The Business Journal, WKBN-TV and the Anderson Program in Journalism at YSU to present a Student Press Freedom Day program to raise awareness of student journalism and the power of the student press.

Student Press Freedom Day is a national day of action when we celebrate the contributions of student journalists and the need to support their independence without censorship or threat to their advisers. The day calls attention to the arbitrary and needless censorship of student journalists, and calls upon elected officials to restore and protect student press freedom.
